The client wanted to create a bright, open and cheerful laundry room in what was previously a dark, half-way finished corner of her basement. We framed, drywalled, painted and installed vinyl plank flooring on a 45 degree angle to make the space look larger. A custom laminate counter was built with open shelving. To give the space a completed look, we tiled the backsplash with an arabesque white tile.

To maximize the space, we built cost-effective custom storage shelves along the side wall. They were measured to fit large plastic storage bins.

Due to how the plumbing was roughed in, to ensure proper drainage from the washing machine, the drainage pipes had to be drilled through the countertop and run through the wall. The client did not want to lose counter space to a built out space so it was left exposed with extremely easy access to the emergency shut-offs.
